The Green Science Policy Institute would like to invite you to our annual Flame Retardant Dilemma and Beyond Symposium on February 10, 2017. This decade long series of science and policy meetings have educated decision-makers in California and nationally to reduce toxics and protect our health.

Inspiring speakers include:
- Rob Bilott, subject of the NY Times Magazine cover story, “ The Lawyer Who Became Dupont’s Worst Nightmare," will share the story of his recent $10.5 million lawsuit awarded to his client due to “actual malice” on DuPont’s part. His client developed cancer from drinking water contaminated with fluorinated chemicals from a DuPont plant.

- Malene Teller Blume of Coop Denmark, the country’s largest retailer, will share how they took the lead in phasing out all fluorinated chemicals, BPA, and other harmful chemicals.

- Justin Paddock, Chief of the California agency responsible for fire safety regulations, which changed in 2014 so that flame retardants are no longer needed in furniture -- at least for the now.

We hope you can join us for this fun and educational symposium.
